Watch
Cleaning
For all bracelets (except leather and delicate straps) and all water resistant watch cases use a toothbrush with soapy water and a soft cloth for drying. |
Water-resistance
Your Swatch is water-resistant. A hard knock or other events such as battery changes might cause the watch to lose its water-resistance without you realising it. Therefore, it is recommended to check it regularly. |
Change of battery
Be careful when changing the battery of your watch. There is a risk of damaging the movement and deteriorate the water-resistance. |
Bathing in the sea
Always rinse your watch with lukewarm water afterwards. Sea water especially affects the quality of the leather, painting and plastic. |
Magnetic fields
Avoid placing your watch on speakers or other electrical motors with strong magnetic fields as they can affect the running of your Swatch watch. |
Shock
A hard knock might cause diverse damages to your watch. Therefore, avoid all types of shocks, including thermal shocks. |
Temperatures
Avoid extreme temperatures above 60C or 140 F, below -10C or 14F or extreme temperature changes. |
Date change
The date of the Swatch watch changes between 11 PM and 3 AM. Therefore, do not adjust the date function during this time. It could seriously damage the watch movement. |
Polish the glass
Light scratches on your synthetic glass can disappear by polishing it. Use polish cream (or abrasive dental fresh) or go to your Swatch retailer to refresh your watch. |
Chemical products
Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, mosquito repellent, perfumes, sun creams or other cosmetic and chemical products since they may damage the bracelet, the watch case, the glass or other synthetic and natural parts of your watch. |
Chrono hands adjustment
When the Chrono hands are out of alignment (e.g. due to a shock or a knock), they can be quite easily “adjusted or calibrated” back to their original positions. For more details, please check our "complete manual chrono PDF" on www.swatch.com/services/user-manuals |

Leather straps
Protection against heat
Do not place the leather strap next to heat sources like open fires, radiators and others. |
Protection against light
Avoid leaving the strap exposed to strong direct light, sunlight or a powerful lamp over a long period as this can affect the surface of the leather strap. |
Protection against water
Avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent discoloration and deformation. |
Chemical products
Do not forget that leather is permeable. Therefore, avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic products. |
Drying a wet strap
For a wet or damp strap to dry, leave it at normal room temperature, preferably even in a cool place. Avoid using a strong heat. |
Cleaning
For leather and delicate straps, rub with a damp cloth and if necessary some soft soap. This method is especially suitable for straps made of smooth or grained leather. |
Brushing
Use a soft brush (for example a nail-brush). This method is recommended for nubuck types of leather or delicate straps. It will remove the dirt and refresh the surface fibres. |

Bijoux
Cleaning
For cleaning, use lukewarm soapy water or polish frequently with a soft cloth to maintain the original finish - this will work the best. |
Dressing
Put on your Bijoux last when getting dressed and take off first when undressing in order to avoid modification of the original shape. Any modification of the original aspect for example by squeezing can cause damages or loss of decorative elements. |
Shock
Whether thermal or other, avoid them. Also avoid other hard knocks which could cause scratches, chips and other damages. |
Swimming
Remove your Bijoux before swimming in the sea or swimming pool, or rinse it afterwards with lukewarm water. Sea or chlorine water could cause damage. |
Body care
Please remove your bijoux before washing your hands or applying body care products such as perfume, hairspray, soaps, sun cream and lotions as this could damage the used materials and cause discoloration and loss of crystal brilliance. |
Temperatures
Avoid extreme temperatures above 60°C or 140°F, below -10°C or 14°F or extreme temperature changes. Furthermore, never place the Bijoux near heat sources like open fires, radiators or others. |
Chemical products
Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, mosquito repellent etc. since they may damage your Bijoux. |
Protection against light
Avoid exposing the Bijoux to strong direct light, sunlight or a powerful lamp for a long period as this could cause discoloration. |
